Surgery Scheduler

SURGERY SCHEDULER

We are seeking a surgery coordinator for our busy ENT specialty practice. This position requires someone with excellent customer service skills, great communication skills, and a welcoming attitude.

Job Responsibilities

· Appointment scheduling for pre-and post-surgical appointments and testing

· Patient counseling

· Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding

· Obtain medical clearance from a specialist or PCP.

· Responsible for verifying insurance eligibility and benefits.

· Responsible for obtaining pre-payment.

· Obtain prior authorizations for in-office and outpatient surgeries.

· Coordinate processes and route all paperwork as required to meet physicians and facility requirements.

· Maintain patient confidentiality by following HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

· Apply customer service skills to deal diplomatically and constructively with patients, physicians, staff, management team, hospitals, surgery centers, and insurance companies.

· Use the EMR system to document surgical details, communicate with patients, and communicate with all physicians.

Requirements

· Experience in surgery scheduling is required.
