Job Summary: As a global manufacturer of high performance interconnect solutions and perimeter security systems, Southwest Microwave, Inc. is seeking a hands on and strategic thinking Supply Chain Specialist to join our Security Systems Division team based in Tempe, Arizona. This position will play a critical role in responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end Supply Chain process, from procurement and logistics to inventory management and distribution. The primary goal is to ensure the efficient and seamless flow of materials and products, meeting customer demands while minimizing costs and maximizing operational effectiveness.
Job Duties: Minimum job duties include the following.
- Identify and resolve Supply Chain issues and bottlenecks
- Conduct data analysis and use metrics to track Supply Chain performance
- Implement and manage Supply Chain systems and tools to streamline processes
- Communicate Supply Chain performance and initiatives to stakeholders, including senior management
- Identify reliable suppliers, negotiate vendor contracts, and maintain relationships to secure optimal terms and pricing
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contracts, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to quality standards
- Develop and implement effective inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and reduce stockouts or overstocks
- Conduct regular inventory analysis to identify slow-moving or obsolete items and recommend appropriate action
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop accurate demand forecasts based on historical data and sales forecast
- Adjust inventory plans accordingly to meet changing demand patterns and sales fluctuations
- Identify inefficiencies in the Supply Chain process and propose and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs
- Streamline processes for order processing, procurement, and demand fulfillment to increase productivity and meet customer expectations
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential disruptions in the Supply Chain
Skills/Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience (5+ years) as a Supply Chain Specialist or in a similar role, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of Supply Chain processes. Strong understanding of procurement, inventory management, logistics, and demand forecasting. Proficient in using Supply Chain management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, inventory management software, forecasting tools). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make informed decisions. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional certifications such as APICS (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) or CSCMP are advantageous
