POSITION SUMMARY
The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for sourcing components for a range of conveyors and material handling products who works with a team of engineers, project managers and purchasing management to find the best suppliers, evaluate project bids and select the right suppliers at the right time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Analyze Supply Chain flow and inventory (sales, usage, and forecasting) to determine replenishment requirements and enter orders in ERP system accordingly, and also monitor material flow and shipments
- Make decisions for product ordering for optimal stock levels
- Responsible for improving and establishing purchasing procedures required to fulfill the procurement, inventory, and distribution of required components
- Inventory management (sourcing, cycle counting, and ERP management)
- Supplier relationship management
- Identify new sourcing strategies that will enable cost savings and company growth
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain and operations management, logistics, business or strategic planning is desired
- Strong capability in analyzing data in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently and make decisions
- Great relationship management
- Exceptional organization skills, attention to detail
- Strong work ethic - punctual, hard-working, and able to do what is necessary to keep projects moving ahead on time
- You need to be a very strong writer, able to clearly explain commercial requirements for each commodity, including communicating with overseas partners
- Great verbal skills and a positive attitude
- Experience in negotiating win-win outcomes
- Experience with domestic and international Supply Chain
- Ability to multi-task, with exceptional skills in prioritizing, following up, and making sure commitments are achieved
- Previous experience in the conveyor, material handling or automation industry in a purchasing role would be very valuable
- Experience with warehouse and inventory management is highly desired
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements for this position are typical for a sedentary office environment including considerable time spent in a stationary position, at a desk using a computer terminal and keyboard. Movement about the office and standing are required occasionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment for this position is typical for an office including protection from weather conditions and typical office equipment noise.
