Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of the strategic project plan for the next year, to ensure the basis to deliver the company strategic goals
  • Lead the project management, performance assessment, and reporting for the location
  • Influence management decisions to implement optimum solutions
  • Research about logistics and business processes and technology using benchmarking, literature reviews, interviews, and site visits.
  • Collect, synthetize, and structure data needed for analysis
  • Design and evaluate future state data, processes, and technologies
  • Plan and support prototype demonstrations and implementation of adopted solutions
  • Lead and support project teams to ensure safe and effective execution of project implementation and provide technical support to project teams in order to ensure technically best practices solutions.
  • Demonstrate project leadership, interpersonal skills, and effective communication
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and TPS (Toyota Production System)
  • Lead the creation and management of the yearly budget for the area.
  • Ability to lead change management.
  • Map and diagnose current flows to evaluate discrepancy between systems and physical and to bring ideas to get quick wins, short-term and long-term enhancements;
  • Implement a robust ABC analysis process for the inventory management
  • Work to have a more robust plan for return items
  • Act directly in the Shipping Past Dues reduction improving the process with S&OP and factories
  • Implement solutions to outbound freight optimization
  • Implement a robust Yard management process / system
  • Work on the warehouse productivity increase through processes levelling
  • Improve the receiving area management. Implement KPIs and actions related to the productivity and quality of the process output
  • Improve the WH layout, aiming to increase the productivity and space utilization
  • Implementation of Heat Map analysis
  • Optimize order picking routes
  • Stablish a PFEP
  • Establish and planning process for the customization / modification area

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Logistics, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in process mapping, process re-engineering, and solution architecting
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to use spreadsheet and database software
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Available for occasional travel
  • English / Spanish knowledge
  • 5+ years of work experience in continuous improvement, logistics optimizations and progressive management experience.
  • Experience in coordinating and handling complex activities, with multi-functional teams

Skills:
  • Leadership and project management skills
  • Ability to analyze and process high volume of information, manage multiple priorities in a timely manner, with precise attention to details, high degree of accuracy and extensive problem-solving experience
  • Proven ability to translate complex projects into succinct business messages, gaining engagement and endorsement from business stakeholders
  • Ability to review and analyze business reports, such as profit and loss statement (P&L)
  • Knowledge in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, Microsoft Office
  • Strong teambuilding and leadership skills

Physical Demands:
Position requires sitting, walking, stooping, bending, visual acuity; the stamina to work the shift as scheduled and on a regular basis, ability to work in a non-climate controlled facility with exposure to heat and/or cold in accordance with weather conditions, lifting large, small or awkwardly shaped items on a regular or repeated basis as needed, and the physical ability to accommodate extensive use of computer or other electronic equipment.
