To qualify for the Supervisory Building Operations Manager, GS-1176-14, candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-13.
Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume.
Examples of specialized experience include:
- Evaluating policies and procedures, implementing programs, and independently making decisions relating to the operation and maintenance of buildings and leased space; AND
- Analyzing the effectiveness of facility operations; AND
- Overseeing a team of building managers; AND
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with customers, lessors, contractors, and stakeholders; AND
- Managing and monitoring real property budgetary and financial data.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
