Job description

Summary:
To coordinate, supervise, train, direct, assist, and ensure the completion of housekeeping tasks assigned to Room Attendants and House Attendants of the Inn units. Responsible for maintaining Ocean Reef Club’s Quality Job Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reports to work on time, neatly groomed, in proper uniform with nametag properly displayed.
• Ability to speak, read, and comprehends the English language to understand/delegate instructions and complete any necessary forms and reports.
• Visually inspect VIP units/homes, stairways and corridors (including bordering foliage area) for cleanliness and appearance. Inform Dispatch of room status via telephone or radio and periodic verbal status updates.
• Monitor performance/train room attendants and house attendants. Provide organization, instruction, guidance, communication, counseling, and exercise good judgment while reinforcing Ocean Reef Club high standards of quality.
• Expedite guest requests such as extra towels, blankets, pillows.
• Ensure all jobs are completed within the shift.
• Touch up rooms and units to prepare for arrivals.
• Complete room status report and submit to Housekeeping at end of shift.
• Report all maintenance deficiencies in units/homes needing immediate attention (i.e., occupied, on arrival units, emergencies) to the Engineering Department via Housekeeping Dispatcher.
• Report deep cleaning needs for carpets, draperies, and valances; maintain cleanliness of bed spreads/bed skirts.
Supportive Functions:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, the associates in this position may be required to perform the following functions or combination thereof, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the Director of Housekeeper or other Housekeeping management representative, based upon the particular requirements of the Ocean Reef Club.
• Report suspicious persons, activities, or hazardous conditions. Provide instruction/guidance for guest and employee safety in emergency situations.
• Assist room attendants and house attendants in securing all supplies and tools necessary for the completion of their work as the need arises.
• Respond to guest requests. Provide guest assistance, directions, and information as requested.

• Turn in all items found in Associate’s working area to Housekeeping Lost and Found Department. All items must be labeled with unit number, date, and associate’s name.
• Complete inventories of furniture, fixtures, equipment and supplies as requested by management.
• Assist Room Attendants when necessary and other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
• Lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously, climb stairs, and push or pull equipment. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, supplies and equipment.
• Ability to speak and write English in order to complete forms such as a room status report, supervisor incident report, corrective interview, performance appraisal and development plan, inventory and other reports requested by management.
• Ability to effectively communicate/interact with members/guests, associates and management.
• Follow instructions, directions, organize and prioritize work, and meet deadlines specified by management.
• Provide clear direction/instruction and implement control over the performance of subordinates.
• Well organized, self-motivated and detail-oriented.
• Must display creativity, loyalty, dependability and good judgment.

Education and/or Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High school education preferred. Minimum of one year supervisory experience.

Language Skills:
Must be able to comprehend the English language in order to communicate with co-workers and fully understand job assignments.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Driving license required to navigate the property by assigned golf cart or vehicle.

Attendance, Appearance and Conduct:
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Ocean Reef Club from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry and report deadlines, associate may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of the Club and report deadlines.

Proper grooming is required by all associates and is described in detail in the Associates Handbook. Associates should review this policy and make sure that at all times they present themselves for shifts looking clean, neat and professional.

As a condition of employment, all associates agree to fully comply with Ocean Reef Club rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of Club facilities. Associates who violate Club rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
