Job Description for Engineering Intern:
Uni-Cast is looking to hire an Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2024. The intern will be responsible for engineering support throughout the investment casting manufacturing process. This is a hands-on position with exposure to many different aspects of our manufacturing process, including:
- Assisting and helping to design engineering projects
- Working on unsupervised projects – idea to completion
- Managing projects and deadlines
- Process testing: Wax, Shell and Metal
- Hand polishing of castings and casting samples
- Microscope inspection
- Following work instructions on marking and overseeing destructive testing
- Destructive testing
- Measuring parts and components
- Recording and compiling data
- Heat Treat oven testing
Additional skills that are a plus:
- Mechanically inclined
- Working toward a degree in these fields: Mechanical Engineer or Tech; Manufacturing Engineer or Tech: or Industrial Engineer or Tech
- GD&T knowledge
- Computer skills
- CAD (Solidworks, Pro-E, Catia, Unigraphics, Inventor, etc)
- Excel and Word
- Foundry knowledge
- CMM or CNC experience
Job Types: Full-time, Internship
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
