What does a great Senior Systems Engineer do?
The objective is to enhance and maintain the stability of the distributed server platforms by providing high quality technical expertise and guidance through the build, test, and production phases. As a Server Engineer, you will work with other Server Engineers, Storage Engineers, Operating Systems, Facilities and Application Support teams performing daily activities ranging in complexity. You will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, deployment, and reliable operation of our distributed test, Pre-Production and Production server and VMware environments. You will own and drive changes/projects through all stages of the server hardware and software life cycle.
Responsibilities Include:
- Deploy, maintain, support, and decommission server hardware including Cisco UCS B & C series, HPE Synergy, HPE Proliant and Dell PowerEdge.
- Provide support and problem resolution for the test, pre-production, and production Travelport VMware ESXi and Horizon (VDI) systems. This includes deployment of new updates and operational support for end users of the environment.
- Plan and manage infrastructure changes to adapt the server infrastructure to capacity growth, cost management and support requirements.
- Manage and support NTP appliances.
- Manage and support Thales CipherTrust Manager appliances.
- Manage Service Now break/fix and request queues.
- Provide 24x7 on-call availability and support on a rotating basis with other group staff.
- On-premise inspection of equipment deployed in both the Atlanta and Alpharetta data centers for troubleshooting as well as design of new deployments.
Who we are looking for in this role:
- Ability to work effectively on multiple concurrent assignments with both technical and business staff.
- Flexible, self-motivated, high work standards, attentive to detail, able to perform as an individual contributor or as a member or leader of a team.
- Proficient writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate technically with peers and strategically with senior leadership.
- Act as a technical escalation point for end users of the system and other team members.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years' experience related to Cisco, HPE or Dell server hardware
- 7+ years' experience working with VMware virtualization technologies
- Knowledge of Cisco UCS and VMware in an ACI network is a plus.

Salary Target/Range: $120,000 - $125,000
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
