Summer 2024 Business Process Improvement Co-op/Intern
JOB LOCATION:
Austin, Texas
ONSITE/HYBRID: These roles require the student to work full time (40 hours a week), either in a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.
PROGRAM TERM:
Summer 2024 (May 20th - August 9, 2024)
WHO WE ARE:
The Business Operations Project Management Office supports the strategic goals of the organization by providing direct and indirect project management of cross functional projects within Global Operations and Quality (GOQ). We simplify the business and drive the 'Next 5%' by identifying and driving improvement opportunities and providing solutions that can scale with ever-changing organizational needs. We enable customer success by serving as subject matter experts (SMEs) and optimize project investments by overseeing the centralized portfolio of project work within GOQ.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- This position will support the Continuous Improvement & Project Management office team's efforts in achieving cost, revenue, and quality objectives. You will receive training to support your understanding of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and other problem-solving methodologies and, using these, will apply the learning to define an approach and plan to solve for a specific problem we are facing within GOQ.
- Potential projects include:
- Identify Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning tools that will aid the organization in analyzing project performance
- Identify a collaborative solution to make meetings more effective
- Identify a Project Portfolio Management solution that would address the needs of all customer teams across GOQ
- Identify opportunities for improvement within the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and LSS programs, analyze solution opportunities and make recommendations for improvement
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Background in Business Process Improvement (BPI)
- Knowledge of PMP project management methodology
- Knowledge LSS project management methodology
- Understanding of Portfolio Management Concepts
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Currently 4th year BBA or MBA student
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to manage your time effectively
- Strong organizational and communication skills
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:
- Gain valuable job experience with the concepts, tools and skills related to Lean Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Best practices for project management, Project Management Office (PMO) governance, Portfolio Management and data driven decision making.
- Integrating into and working with a diverse team that operates globally.
- Insights into various facets of a semiconductor manufacturing operations.
