Subject Matter Expert-Liquor/Beer

The role of a Subject Matter Expert is a job we at Bottles & Shots take seriously. As a S.M.E., you are the “face” of the company. You are responsible for providing a positive, knowledgeable customer experience with fast, friendly and courteous service while ensuring accuracy at the sales counter.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Readily adjusts to schedule, tasks and priorities when necessary to meet business needs
• Previous retail experience preferred

Expectations

• Greet every customer in a friendly, welcoming manner
• Educate, sample and assist customers on products, using trained sales techniques to do so in a non-intrusive, non-aggressive manner
• Register sales on a cash register by scanning items, itemizing and totaling customers’ purchases
• Collects payments by accepting cash or charge payments from customers. Makes change for cash customers, counting change back out loud, counting up to amount tendered
• Verifies credit acceptance by properly operating credit card authorization system
• Processes return transactions
• Bags purchases efficiently and safely for customers after each transaction
• Balances cash drawer by counting cash at the beginning and end of each work shift, reporting any offage to appropriate supervisor
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and reporting needed changes to correct supervisor
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Answers customer questions in a professional and educated manner
• Maintains a clean, organized and customer-ready area
• Promptly unloads deliveries by sorting, stocking and rotating products on shelves and in back room
• Stock Jello/Pudding cooler, ensuring product is rotated appropriately labeled
• Ensures all price tags are visible, clean and centered in front of each product
• Assists fellow associates as needed throughout the store
• Shovels and de-ices sidewalk and walkways every 30 mins when weather appropriate
• Readily adjusts to schedule, tasks and priorities when necessary to meet business needs
• Helps with other tasks as needed

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 per hour
