Duties
- Providing exceptional customer service to our students, staff, and other visitors
- serve as a welcoming, positive presence and treat all students with courtesy and respect
- Greet walk in students and visitor and take accurate messages for professional staff
- Help students navigate the TRIO Study Center resources. Assist with general questions
- Provide daily administrative assistance to TRIO Manager and Academic Advisor/Counselor
- Help collect TRIO feed back surveys pertaining to off-campus trips, overall office services
- Print and/or scan event worksheet and workshop activity material
- Create program events and activities content to be posted on the TRIO Facebook page
- Provide student peer to peer engagement
- Partake in the recruitment of new participants during classroom Outreach presentations and informational fairs
- Be available and present to welcome and help onboard new HCC students at fall, spring, and summer new student group orientations. Assisting with putting together Orientation information packets
- Assisting students with navigating the HCC website, Self-Service, and general college questions
Special Skills needed
Previous customer service experience and phone experience; strong typing and computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as database applications; exceptional writing and verbal communication skills; ability to lift up to 20lbs
This position requires a minimum of 15 hours per week with the ability to work up to 20 hours per week. Daytime hours only. Students are expected to maintain a consistent schedule throughout the semester.
Requirements
MUST BE A CURRENT HCC STUDENT FOR THE FALL 2023 SEMESTER.
MUST BE ENROLLED IN AT LEAST 6 CREDITS.
UNLESS FIRST-SEMESTER STUDENT, MUST HAVE ATTAINED A 2.0 SEMESTER GPA DURING THE LAST SEMESTER ATTENDED.
