We are looking for a Student,Lab Operations Assistantto join our Lab Operationsteam in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Your role
- Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment
- Daily cleaning and sterilization of glassware
- Monitor and restock common laboratory consumables
- Monitor common reagents including competent cells, antibiotics, chemical reagents and prepare new batches as needed
- Maintain cell culture spaces including inventories, biohazard waste, CO2, LN2
- Biohazard waste monitoring and preparation for disposal
- Chemical waste disposal
- Maintain laboratory safety equipment and supplies
- Maintain common equipment in good working order
- Other duties related to central infrastructure and operational support
- Other duties as assigned
Job requirements
Who are you?
- Student located in the Pittsburgh area, available for approximately 40 to 60 hours per month for the duration of minimum 1year
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and to coordinate multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Willingness to learn from mistakes
- Desire to learn elementary, intermediate, and advanced laboratory techniques
- Desire to learn new concepts and how to solve complex problems with limited information
