We are looking for a Student,Lab Operations Assistantto join our Lab Operationsteam in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Your role

• Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment
• Daily cleaning and sterilization of glassware
• Monitor and restock common laboratory consumables
• Monitor common reagents including competent cells, antibiotics, chemical reagents and prepare new batches as needed
• Maintain cell culture spaces including inventories, biohazard waste, CO2, LN2
• Biohazard waste monitoring and preparation for disposal
• Chemical waste disposal
• Maintain laboratory safety equipment and supplies
• Maintain common equipment in good working order
• Other duties related to central infrastructure and operational support
• Other duties as assigned

Job requirements
Who are you?

• Student located in the Pittsburgh area, available for approximately 40 to 60 hours per month for the duration of minimum 1year
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and to coordinate multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Willingness to learn from mistakes
• Desire to learn elementary, intermediate, and advanced laboratory techniques
• Desire to learn new concepts and how to solve complex problems with limited information
