The successful candidate should have the following experience:
Excellent communications (oral and written) and interpersonal skills. Good judgment and the demonstrated ability to effectively interact with hourly employees, union representatives, co-workers and managers at all levels of the organization to resolve quality issues. Strong reasoning skills and ability to analyze problems, collect and interpret data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. This position also requires the Lab Operator to be actively engaged in customer visits and audits and play a role in developing strategies and programs for improvement.
Experience and Skills:1. Follow guidelines to assure that product meets customer specifications.
2. Responsible for performing required tests on materials and follow specific test procedures. Required tests include but are not limited to:
Melt Flow, Moisture via Brinkmann, Moisture via Sartorius, Volatiles, Gram Scales, color computer, Muffle Furnace Ash, Bunsen Burner Ash, OCS Pellet Scan, Thermo FTIR, Instron Tensile and Elongation, Brinkmann Titrator, Killian Extrusion and Film, Injection Molding, Specific Gravity and Density, Lab Safety, Spectro XRF, Mooney Viscosity, Hydraulic Presses, Vacuum Oven, Carver Press, Tippmann Clicker Press, Micrometers.
3. Compare test results to specification, record results and communicate deviation to the production personnel.
4. Perform standard calibrations of specific laboratory equipment, record results of calibration, and take defective equipment out of service.
