Job Description
As the Vice President of Operations at STEM Coding Lab, you will play a pivotal role in driving the organization's mission by overseeing and optimizing our operational functions. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of computer science education programs to underserved youth, coordinate our school/partnerships, coordinate with Business Development on new initiatives, manage all delivery resources, and manage grant compliance and governance functions. Your strategic leadership and operational expertise will be critical to our continued growth and success. Salary $80K+ commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute the organization's operational strategy, aligning it with the mission and goals.
2. Resource Allocation: Manage delivery budgets and resource allocation to maximize program impact while maintaining financial sustainability. Develop operating cost models for all type of delivery mechanisms, and coordinate with Business Development on new initiatives and grants.
3. Partnership Development: Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations, and industry stakeholders to enhance program reach and quality.
4. Technology and Infrastructure: Oversee the technology infrastructure, tools, and systems required to support program delivery and organizational operations.
5. Data Analysis: Utilize data-driven insights to continually assess program effectiveness and make data-informed decisions for program improvement.
1. Financial Strategy: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission and goals, ensuring financial sustainability and growth.
2. Budget Management: Oversee the creation, monitoring, and reporting of the annual budget. Maintain fiscal responsibility and transparency.
3. Fundraising and Grants: Collaborate with the executive team to secure funding from grants, donations, and other sources. Manage grant compliance and reporting.
4. Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making and resource allocation.
5. Financial Operations: Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
1. HR Strategy: Develop and implement HR strategies that attract, retain, and develop a diverse and talented workforce.
2. Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment efforts, ensuring the hiring of staff who are aligned with the organization's mission and values.
3. Employee Development: Establish professional development programs and initiatives to support staff growth and retention.
4. Compensation and Benefits: Oversee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitive and equitable packages.
5. Compliance: Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
· Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in nonprofit management.
· Experience with HR and Accounting functions – including related software and procedures.
· Grant proposal development and/or knowledge preferred.
· Experience with scheduling and logistics software preferred.
· Demonstrated success in nonprofit operations and program development, implementation, and evaluation.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Proficiency in data analysis and utilization of data to inform decision making.
· Knowledge and experience in K-8 education system, industry policies, etc. preferred.
