Position Summary Information
General Summary
The Wastewater Operations Intern will assist the Plant Superintendent and other staff in the day-to-day management, operation, and maintenance of a wastewater plant.
Essential Functions
- Observe safety regulations; follow and enforce recommended safety practices such as lockout/tagout procedures, confined space, traffic control, and others established by OSHA and MOSH
- Learn and frequently perform sampling duties in compliance with certification/regulatory requirements, including simple chemical analysis of sampling to determine operational parameters, as well as maintain a log of sampling results
- Learn and assist in operation and maintenance of the plants and remote faculties; provide general housekeeping for all facilities
- Learn and use the plant process control system for the purpose of helping to develop and test new graphics, trends, and alarms
- Learn and utilize the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for the purpose of implementing new preventive maintenance schedules
- Perform independent research on improved control of wastewater treatment process.
- Learn and assist with compiling and interpreting plant, collection, and de-watering system operating data

Minimum Education, Experience Requirements
Completion of 2+ years of college coursework in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Business, or Data Analytics.
