Job Description and Duties

Under the close supervision of the Supervising Program Technician II or III, the Student Assistant in the Quality Update and Expedite Section provides technical and research support with Manual and Hybrid documents submitted via the Hybrid Drop Notice Processor for automation into the Automated Criminal History System (ACHS). The Student Assistant receives and reviews incoming documents, conducts basic research, makes the appropriate notes and routes to the appropriate programs and queues. The Student Assistant will also make inquiries in the Automated Archive System, and various Department databases as well as perform updates to ACHS. The duties above will assist the Student Assistant in gaining a familiarity with California laws and the criminal justice criminal history process.

This position is located in the California Justice Information Services Division, Bureau of Criminal Information & Analysis, Record Management Branch, Criminal Record Expedite & Support Program, Quality Update & Expedite Section #2.
