The Role
The People + Culture team is conducting a study on employee retention within the USTA. We seek a motivated and detail-oriented PhD student to assist with conducting and analyzing Stay Interviews. This project will provide valuable insights into what factors contribute to employee engagement and satisfaction, ultimately informing strategies to improve retention rates.
- Conduct semi-structured Stay Interviews with employees from various departments and roles within the USTA.
- Develop and refine interview guides based on research objectives and stakeholder feedback.
- Actively listen and engage with interviewees to build rapport and gather comprehensive data.
- Accurately transcribe interview recordings for qualitative analysis.
- Organize and manage interview data using qualitative data analysis.
- Contribute to the analysis of interview data and the development of research findings and recommendations for future action.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing key findings and recommendations.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical conduct throughout the research process.
Who You Are
- Enrolled in a PhD program in a relevant field (e.g., organizational psychology, human resource management, sociology, communication).
- Strong qualitative research skills, including experience with semi-structured interviews, coding, and data analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex research findings.
- Proficient in qualitative data analysis.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- This position is designated as remote and non-exempt

The salary for this position is $50.00 per hour. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills.
