The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking to hire one student assistant, with Business Administration/Accounting focus, in the Financial Services Branch to assist with various daily and monthly reports, including reconciliation with the General Ledger and other reports. The position is mainly remote but may need to report to Sacramento DMV headquarters, as needed, after training is completed

Employment
This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.

Prerequisites
Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at one of the accredited colleges or universities on our affiliation list.

Students must be enrolled in at least: six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students; four-semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.

Work Schedule
During school: Monday - Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 5 p.m.
During breaks: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The final work schedule will be determined by the supervisor.
Additional Work Schedule
Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 24 hours per workweek (Sunday - Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring, and summer).
Minimum Qualifications
- Must submit transcripts (unofficial transcripts gladly accepted). Only the most qualified applicants will be interviewed.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, maintain consistent and regular attendance, exercise good judgment, and be able to work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Attention to detail and reliable.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Deductive reasoning and analytical abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- GPA of 3.0.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in running and publishing various daily and monthly revenue and expenditure reports using the Oracle Administrative & Financial System (AFS) and SplashBI reporting tool.
- Assist in reconciling the daily revenue reports like General Ledger (GL) Daily Activity, Cleared Revenue, and Revenue Subsidiary Reports. Also reconcile the GL Activity with the Cash Receipts register and uncleared collections report.
- Assist in reconciling the monthly revenue reports like General Ledger (GL) Monthly Activity, Trial Balance, Revenue Summary Year-To-Date, and Revenue Reconciliation report.
- Assist in setting up internal employee suppliers in Oracle AFS.
- Assist in user access to Oracle AFS with password reset and other requests.
Physical Requirements
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a hybrid office environment.
The position is mainly remote but may need to report to Sacramento DMV headquarters, as needed, after training is completed.
Employees will be required to work according to the current UEI remote workplace policy and sign a UEI telework agreement.
