Job description

Job Description

As a Forensic Structural Engineer, you will:

  • Perform inspections of residential and commercial buildings to determine the cause of damages, which may include improper design, construction errors, storm-related damages, misuse, or lack of maintenance.

  • Enjoy the flexibility of working from your home office approximately 66% of the time and conducting site visits about 33% of the time, without the requirement of going to an office location.

  • Set your own schedule while working a 40-hour week, including travel time to sites, with only occasional overtime.

  • Conduct site visits primarily within your local area, with only occasional overnight travel required.

  • Engage in hands-on inspections involving physical activity rather than sitting at a desk all week.

  • Write professional, concise reports requiring analytical abilities.

  • Be part of an organization with a wide range of Forensic Engineering expertise, including Metallurgy, Chemical Analysis, Materials Testing, Weld Testing, Roof Inspection, Electron Microscopy, Seismic Testing, Environmental Testing, Computed Tomography, Calibration, and Non-Destructive Testing capabilities.

  • Join a rapidly growing organization with around 150 Professional Engineers across various disciplines.

  • Gain knowledge through structured third-party training, on-the-job training, and a mentorship program.

  • Receive competitive compensation and benefits, including company-paid Medical, Dental, STD, LTD, Life, and AD&D insurance. The company also offers a 401K retirement program with 50% matching up to 5%. Licenses, Memberships, and PDH credits are covered by the company. Partnerships are considered after demonstrating outstanding company and customer service.

Since 2006, this company has performed thousands of forensic engineering evaluations throughout the US to determine the origin and cause of a loss and the extent of damages. Inspections include machinery, heavy equipment, commercial and passenger vehicles, residential and commercial buildings, roadways, and marine structures. Requirements:

  • Ability to conduct inspections requiring climbing ladders, entering confined spaces, working on rooftops, etc.

They are an equal opportunity employer where employment is based upon personal capabilities and qualifications without discrimination due to race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic as established by law.
