As the Senior Revenue Cycle Data and Reporting Analyst, you will be the leader and subject matter expert for specific content issues and solutions. You will have a very strong working knowledge of Revenue Cycle operations, hospital clinical and administrative departments, and core process flows. You should be able to have an understanding of flows and interactions across administrative and financial systems, being thoroughly familiar with reporting foundational knowledge and underlying databases that comprise the organization’s Electronic Health Record. You will perform project management activities as well as analysis, design, implementation, education and support of assigned data and dashboard requests. You will be thoroughly familiar with the function and processes of their assigned departments and assist Revenue Cycle departments in the use of the applications at Aspirus, while working to maintain and/or improve patient safety, departmental workflow, and cost containment. In this role, you will consult and collaborate with Revenue Cycle leadership, technologist, and clerical and administrative users, vendors, hospital management/administration, and outside agencies.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify opportunities to improve patient experience. Participates in projects/programs designed to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.
- Acts as a leader and subject matter expert for specific content issues and solutions. Assists and mentors Application Analysts with analysis of complex systems and processes.
- Provides technical guidance to Reporting Team, Business Intelligence, Data Analysts and Application Analysts.
- Leads and assists Data Analysts, Application Analysts, and Reporting teams with analytical decision processes.
- Proactively researches and solves problems. Analyzes processes, both current and future state. Mentors Data Analysts on problem solving processes.
- Continuously seek efficiency gains, identifying opportunity to increase Revenue Cycle self- sufficiency.
- Documents high level complex problems, works with operational team to define decision documents for presentation to Revenue Cycle Leadership.
- Utilizes current issue tracking software to document contact with customers and resolution of issues within adequate time frame. Works pro-actively with Revenue Cycle owners to solve issues.
- Analyzes and validates reporting results, identifying Revenue Cycle opportunity, escalating spikes in key performance indicators.
- Assists and directs departmental resources to develop workflow and dataflow solutions to address system issues and processes.
- Maintains the privacy and confidentiality of patient electronic protected health information (ePHI) and departmental documents. Maintains appropriate security and confidentiality standards.
- Acts as an effective negotiator and consensus builder. Works effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Analyzes system and user needs:
- Works with Revenue Cycle staff to enhance their use of the computer systems and communicates their concerns/needs to Revenue Cycle Analytics Director.
Works with various Revenue Cycle departments in defining system needs including reports to improve efficiency and productivity.
Works with the Revenue Cycle customer and the programmer to specify report criteria and specific data elements to meet custom report needs.
Continually reviews repetitive reporting requests to identify weaknesses, operational or workflow problems, and other areas that need improvement.

Qualifications needed:
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Business, Information Technology, Informatics, or related field, and/or five+ years’ relevant healthcare/IT experience.
Experience
- + 5 years experience in a healthcare environment. Experience working in EPIC Reporting tools is required
- + 3 years of healthcare Revenue Cycle experience.
- + 3 years of experience in financial and healthcare billing.
- + 5 years experience in business analytics with specific expertise in Revenue Cycle operations preferred.
- Experience with Epic reporting tools (Clarity, Caboodle, Slicer Dicer, etc.)
