Job Description Qualifications:
The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking Structural Design Engineers to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, OK.
A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Airborne Surveillance Command and Control (ASC2), Bombers, or the Executive Transport Services & Systems (ETS&S) programs.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate or Experienced Level Structural Design Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Associate (Level 2)

  • Assist to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
  • Develop, maintain and modify basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
  • Perform tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Assist with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
  • Support investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
  • Work under general supervision

Experienced (Level 3)
  • Develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
  • Develop, maintain and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
  • Perform, integrate analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Manage supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
  • Develop new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort
  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
  • Work under general direction

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 1+ year of experience in mechanical and/or Structural Design
  • 1+ year of experience creating, executing, reviewing, and managing Structural Design models
  • 1+ year of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables
  • 1+ year of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • 1+ year of experience working with computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) such as CATIA, Solidworks or Siemens NX

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • (Level 3): 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher
  • Strong verbal and written skills, teaming skills, technical skills, and integration skills
  • Analytical, communication and problem-solving skills

Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range (Associate, level 2): 70,550 - 95,450
Summary pay range (Engineer, level 3): 84,150 - 113,850
