Heidelberg Materials is seeking a qualified intern as Strategy and Development Analyst for its Irving (Las Colinas), TX location.
The position of Strategy and Development Analyst will be responsible for developing a wide variety of analyses and documents that will be used by the senior management of Heidelberg Materials and the Strategy and Development team. The candidate must be able to build positive working relationships with managers and employees throughout the Company and have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of market research, financial statements, and strategic planning.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS
- Prepare comprehensive analyses of the economic, demographic, and competitive landscapes of current and potential markets.
- Convert information and analyses into actionable decision frameworks and summary presentations for senior management.
- Aid in analyzing the strategic and financial attractiveness of potential acquisition targets and other growth opportunities.
- Assist in creating strategies and plans to drive revenue growth, value enhancement and cost optimization.
- Support the Strategy and Development Department with all aspects of strategic development job duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in MBA program;
- BA/BS degree with a major or focus in finance, business, economics, quantitative analysis, research or operations preferred.
- 2 to 4 years relevant professional experience gained in the building materials or a position in market research, consulting, M&A, operations or finance.
- Superior problem solving, financial, research and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Work well in a team and independently.
- Proven ability to think creatively and strategically.
- Demonstrated drive, initiative, and adaptability.
- Excellent presentation skills and attention to detail.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word.
