Job Purpose
Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs, the Stewardship & Events Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Winthrop Eagle Club operations and communications.
Job Summary
- Creates promotional material and solicits Eagle Club memberships.
- Processes donations and memberships.
- Serves as membership database administrator.
- Communicates with members regarding membership benefits and events.
- Records minutes at Eagle Club board and committee meetings.
- Prepares donor reports as needed.
- Assists with planning, preparation and execution of the annual Eagle Club Scholarship Auction.
- Builds and maintains quality relationships with donors, alumni, head coaches and the local community.
- Coordinates all hospitality for Eagle Club membership and season ticket holder events.
- Assists with the division's fundraising goals and University Advancement activities in support of overall Winthrop philanthropy.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in event planning, alumni relations, student development, volunteer management, public relations or similar work in athletics.

Familiarity with college athletics. Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft correspondence and prepare promotional materials. Ability to exercise discretion when working with highly sensitive and confidential information. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment, maintain composure under pressure, and thrive in a team-oriented environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse constituencies, including faculty, staff, students, donors and the general public. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
