EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree in business, education, communication, or related field preferred.
- Two to three years of experience working in an analytic, stakeholder engagement, technical writing, or administrative role is required.
- Basic understanding of the not-for-profit health care industry is preferred.
- Experience in clinical or academic research, nursing, medical technology, laboratory, or other healthcare-related professions is preferred.
Standards Development (25%)
- Assists the Standards Development Manager with improving the Standards Development process.
- Supports the Standards Development Manager with attaining the goals of FACT Standards Development process:
- Technical excellence.
- Adoption of evidence-based, peer-reviewed clinical guidelines in hematopoietic-derived cellular therapy and cord blood banking.
- Clear, concise, and easily understood documentation.
- Openness and fairness.
- Timeliness.
- Wide distribution and use.
- Consistency throughout all sets of FACT Standards.
- Assists in maintaining FACT Standards with the objective of keeping them up to date and technically valid. This may include the publication of amendments, the interpretation of a standard or clause, and the systematic (three-year) review of all standards.
Organization and Planning (25%)
- Supports Standards revisions to ensure they are impactful, inclusive, credible, and aligned to the objectives of FACT.
- Performs complex scheduling and coordination of activities for volunteers.
- Tracks, interprets, and summarizes feedback on FACT Standards and associated documents during standards committee meetings, public comment periods, and other major outreach phases.
- Contributes to the development of policies, tools, and guidance to accompany Standards to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation.
- Investigates and seeks guidance from internal and external stakeholders on interpretation questions.
- Contributes to internal and external communications on Standards.
- Ensures the Standards content in the FACT accreditation portal is up to date, managing content and quality control prior to publication of new standards.
- Conducts research and other activities as necessary.
Editing (25%)
- Proofreads and edits written content for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Ensures that written materials adhere to the appropriate style guide (e.g., American Medical Association Style).
- Fact-checks information to ensure accuracy and credibility.
- Collaborates with writers, editors, and other team members to ensure consistent messaging and quality standards.
- Verifies information and enhances the overall quality of the content.
- Provides feedback and suggestions for improving the clarity, flow, and effectiveness of written materials.
Education and Training (10%)
- Assists with identifying areas of concern, training opportunities, and developing educational curriculum and content related to Standards.
Research and Data Collection (10%)
- Assists in partnering with Accreditation Services to collect needed data.
- Researches tools and resources needed to improve Standards Development.
Policies and Procedures (5%)
- Assists in writing and revising policies, standard operating procedures, and related documents.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel to support FACT activities (e.g., workshops, conferences, staff meetings) may be required as necessary.
