Staff Accountant

Sharetown is a private reverse logistics and services business helping online retailers benefit the community and the environment by finding a second home for returned products. We are hiring an experienced Staff Accountant to help keep accurate records of accounts receivable and month-close processes.

Remote, work-from-home position with flexible hours (15-20 hours per week with possibility of additional hours as the company grows in size and complexity). Higher number of hours in first two weeks of each month (during month-close) and lower number of hours in second two weeks of each month.

Responsibilities for Staff Accountant

• Keep accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments to the organization
• Create partner invoices
• Collaborate with team members to provide necessary reports
• Assist with payroll functions as required by the organization and prepare payroll JE’s and reconciliations
• Assist in the preparation of tax documents for employees and contractors
• Handle general ledger bookkeeping, including reconciliation of various accounts
• Look for and provide solutions for accounting discrepancies and inefficiencies
• Assist with tax and financial statement audits

Qualifications for Staff Accountant

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fields preferred (or working towards your degree in this field)
• 1-3 years of accounting experience
• Experience researching technical accounting issues
• Payroll processing experience via BambooHR preferred
• Experience with Quickbooks Online preferred
• Proven organizational skills and the ability to maintain precise records
• Ability to work effectively in a remote/home office setting
