Position Overview of Staff Accountant:
Clarus Direct is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our energetic, fast-paced team. This Staff Accountant will assist in daily and month-end accounting activities. Including cash activity, revenue reconciliations, accruals & prepaids, and other account reconciliations. If you’re looking for an opportunity to learn and grow, this position is for you.
Duties and Responsibilities of Staff Accountant:
- Prepare daily revenue reconciliations.
- Provide daily cash reporting.
- Record daily, weekly & monthly journal entries, including but not limited to accruals, prepaid amortization, revenue recognition, and other monthly expenses.
- Process accounts payable invoices and payments
- Monthly account reconciliations.
- Analyze monthly actuals for abnormalities or variances to forecast/budget.
- Assist with financial audit and tax preparation requests from external CPAs.
- Prepare and document assigned close procedures and adhere to all internal controls and policies.
- Work with various business owners on process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with compliance related tasks for property declarations, escheatment and 1099 reporting.
Skills and Experience of Staff Accountant:
- 3+ years of accounting or similar experience.
- General knowledge of US GAAP.
- Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively about financial and operational matters.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP & SUMIF).
