The Business Manager is responsible for posting all financial transactions, managing the general ledger, assisting with grant applications, and reporting, preparing budgets and monthly and annual financial reports.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Three (3) years related bookkeeping and office experience.
- Technical proficiency in Office, Excel, and QuickBooks
- Experience processing payroll through a third-party vendor
· Experience posting and preparing budgets.
- Knowledge of concepts, principles, practices, and procedures of internal accounting operations.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
- Knowledge of general ledger management, budgeting, monthly reports
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to perform numerous tasks in a busy setting.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting a plus
RESPONSIBILITES:
· Develop/maintain all financial records using tools such as Excel and QuickBooks.
- Prepare monthly financial report for presentation to School Board.
- Answer any financial questions that arise.
- Generate tuition cost for State funded slots based on sliding scale fees given by the State of CT.
- Create automatic billing plans for families on Brightwheel.
- Generate Care4kids payment plans and monitor Certificates.
- Maintain records and copies on file.
- Keep record of all transactions
- Pay bills as they come in and record in QuickBooks.
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll.
- Help prepare yearly budget report with Director.
- Keep the Director informed of any concerns or budgetary difficulties.
- Assist in preparing Grant Applications.
- Track Grant Expenditures.
- Communicate with families via Brightwheel if there are late payments or billing concerns.
- Coordinate with and support external auditors.
- Reconcile accounts at the end of each month and at the end of the year.
- Prepare annual financial report.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
