Account Director, Market Access

Summary: In this role, the Account Director, Market Access will oversee all internal and external aspects of an account management team, while also contributing to the growth and development of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for growing the existing accounts(s) assigned by identifying new opportunities
- Manages the assigned account management team strategy to achieve team objectives
- Contributes to business development activities
Market/Client Knowledge:
- Demonstrates ability to think proactively about client strategies and lifecycle management
- Serves as team leader to both integrated agency team and to client
- Actively recommends and implements strategic & non-traditional solutions to process problems
- Stays educated on client therapeutic area, product, strategy, and competitive space, as well as Market Access dynamics
- Continues to learn and applies knowledge to reviews of content and demonstrates understanding through internal and client communication
Client Relations:
- Proactively manages relationship with clients; seeks opportunities to strengthen/build new relationships
- Demonstrates interest and aptitude in providing strategic recommendations
- Ensures client expectations are met on all levels of project and overall account activity
- Adapts and navigates with ease, whether it's a client process or change in direction on a project
- Adapts to client personalities and styles
- Independently manages potentially difficult client conversations and situations around project scope, financials, staffing, and performance
Account Management:
- Assigns, delegates, and manages account team workload
- Facilitates conflict resolution
- Identifies and suggests new approaches and best practices within their team
- Leads team training around processes and client SOPs
- Assists with tactical support (ie, tactical sections, budgets, timelines) for RFPs and proposals when needed
- Independently prepare budgets and SOW's
- Manages account financials including overseeing account financial report, review/approving accruals, sending client invoice report, discussing overall financials with clients
Interpersonal/ Leadership Skills:
- Demonstrates excellent verbal, written and oral presentation skills
- Manage at least two different direct reports 12 months
- Guide team through change and training
- Vet resumes for new hires and participate in interview process
- Ability to partner with scientific team and members of the shared services team
- May provide mentorship to the APMs and PMs on the team
Education: A bachelor's degree is required.
Experience: Relevant experience in Market Access communications is required.
This position can be performed remotely in all but the following locations: Colorado, New York City, San Francisco County, CA.
