Staff Accountant
Duties:
- Prepare and maintain financial records and reports
- Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
- Process accounts payable and ensure timely payments
- Assist with financial report interpretation and analysis
- Collaborate with the tax department to ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations
- Utilize accounting software to record and track financial transactions
· Administer payroll for employees, providing information and answering employee questions about payroll-related matters.
· Prepare reports for weekly, quarterly, and yearly reviews.
· Payroll taxes – performed monthly, quarterly, and annually as required.
· Review and abide by company policies and procedures.
· Make sure account balances are correct and review monthly financial balance sheet.
· Managing electronic timekeeping systems or manually collecting and reviewing timesheets.
· Resolve payroll errors.
· Record journal entries as needed.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred but not required
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a financial services setting
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify trends or discrepancies
