Staff Accountant | Full-Time, Hybrid
MSP Real Estate | Milwaukee, WI
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
As a result of company growth, MSP Real Estate is seeking a Staff Accountant to join it's Milwaukee-based team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting and finance team and assist with additional projects and duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Performing basic accounting procedures
Support accounts payable to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and data entry
Prepare journal entries to multiple entity ledgers
Perform monthly bank and general ledge reconciliations
Provide detailed analysis and explanations of transactions and variances
Prepare documentation for external auditors
Monthly reporting to banks and/or investors
File sales tax returns
Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Assist with additional projects and duties as needed
All other duties as assigned by the Accounting Supervisor or Controller
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Finance, Business, or related field; preferred
2+ years progressive accounting experience; preferred
Strong computer aptitude, intermediate with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook as well as applicable accounting software; experience with Yardi accounting software preferred and Point Click Care (PCC); preferred
Problem Solving: identify and resolve problems in a timely manner as well as skillfully gather and analyze information
Interpersonal Skills: ability to communicate orally and in writing and manage well at all levels of the company
Judgement: display willingness to make decisions; exhibit sound and accurate judgement; and make timely decisions
Planning and Organization: prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently; and develop realistic action plans

Frequently required to talk or listen. The ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other employees is crucial. Regular use of email, telephone, and videoconferencing is essential. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or review documents.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time, sitting for extended periods and extensive work at a computer is common, occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc., constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Must occasionally move boxes, office equipment or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
