Overview
Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records, track the organizations assets, prepare and maintain account reconciliations, and other financial activities.
Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Reconciles various general ledger accounts
- Manages fixed assets (depreciation calculation, report capital spending, tracking fixed asset project costs)
- Provides assistance and support for Accounts Receivable
- Assist with product cost analysis
- Support of period end close process including JE's and management reporting.
- Assists in gathering necessary account information and documents to perform annual financial reviews
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
- Promotes and demonstrates Metalcraft core values
- Other duties as assigned.

- Strong analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles with a desire to learn cost accounting.
- Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Understanding of Financial Accounting required for month end close process and support of other Accounting duties as needed.
- Ability to work independently while supporting department goals.
Education and/or Experience
Requires education equivalent to a bachelor's degree in accounting from a four-year college or university.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include pivot tables, lookups and formula writing.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical information in mathematical form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
