The Staff Accountant prepares tax schedules, schedules for GAAP financial reporting and compliance filings for the Company. This role documents information for over 100 federal and state income tax returns. This position also prepares electronic workpapers for GAAP financial reports and financial statement audits for the Company and its benefit plans, and assists with statutory compliance filings, including annual reports and collection license renewals. The Staff Accountant prepares complex bank reconciliations and provides oversight for accounts payable processes for multiple entities. The role requires a detail-oriented problem solver with strong technical skills who works well in a deadline-driven environment.
Hours: Day shift, 40-hour work weeks. During training, 8am - 5pm. Flexible schedule options available between 7am - 7pm after six months of employment.
Setting: Professional office environment (with partial remote options).

Responsibilities
- Prepares schedules for corporate tax return filings for multiple legal entities and personal returns of the owners.
- Completes supporting documentation for compliance processes including financial statement audits, SOC-1 internal control reporting, corporate annual reports and other licenses and filings.
- Creates consolidated financial reports, including identifying and resolving variances and discrepancies.
- Prepares complex bank reconciliations and manages accounts payable processes.
- Maintains strict confidentiality over financial information and data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or other related field is required. CPA or public accounting experience preferred.
- Two to four years in an accounting, auditing or finance role, preferably with significant exposure to financial analysis, reporting and reconciliation processes. Experience in tax or auditing role is strongly preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required and a strong technological knowledge base are required. An assessment of candidate's Excel skills is performed as part of the interview process.
- Strong attention to detail with a bias for accuracy.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong organization and prioritization skills with a focus on meeting deadlines.
- Effective written communication, primarily through e-mail, and verbal communication with external contacts and internal customers.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and work independently
