The Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC)Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is responsible for providing administrative leadership and strategic direction for the nursing departments within EMRMC. Assures the timely, consistent, effective and efficient provision of interdisciplinary, collaborative patient care as well as the continuous, timely availability of nursing care, treatment and services in accordance with the nursing professional practice model. Duties include ensuring the quality of nursing standards of care and practice and participating with the Nursing Executive Council and other system groups to incorporate current research findings and nationally recognized professional standards into the policies and procedures governing the provision of nursing care, treatment and services. Directs the nursing practice of professionals and support personnel in accordance with standards of practice as defined by the Kentucky Board of Nursing and the concepts of patient/ family centered care which is built on a foundation of caring, compassion, competence, communication, collaboration and teamwork. Responsible for promoting shared nursing leadership to accomplish positive outcomes, education, respect, dignity and safety for the patient and their family.
Participates in Organization-wide Administrative On-Call. Accountable for leadership of self and others. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
