Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking a Mainframe Infrastructure Engineer that has extensive experience in mainframe system technologies with an emphasis on performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting of core transaction processing systems. This individual should be self-motivated and driven to help contribute toward the success of our mainframe technology initiatives. This person will assist system and application teams in designing processes that are resilient and performant. Design and build out new dashboards and reporting to allow broader and easier access to performance and capacity data. Participate in project teams to implement new capabilities and technologies. Suggest new or alternative products and solutions to modernize and streamline our environment. Lead projects and efforts across multiple teams.

This is a hybrid role based out of one of our below locations - Irving TX, Dallas TX, Atlanta GA, Minneapolis MN, Charlotte NC., Portland OR (Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three or more days a week at a U.S. Bank location,)
Responsibilities Include
* Lead/participate in resolution of complex z/OS performance problems
* Use SAS and/or MXG to develop reports for performance analysis
* Provide consulting services for z/OS performance and capacity initiatives
* Support and maintain ThruPut Manager to provide batch job balancing across systems
* Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they become a problem
* Create and maintain system configuration documentation
* Build and maintain performance databases
* Tune WLM to meet business objectives
* Collaborate and communicate well with others
* Suggest tuning setting for various systems and processes
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
* At least 4-7 years' experience with mainframe technologies
Preferred Skills/Experience
* Mainframe technologies
* JCL Batch processing
* Technical troubleshooting of Mainframe performance issues
* Understanding of SMF processing
* Mainframe performance tuning and sizing
* Statistical and data mining of performance and audit data
Subject matter expert in:
* z/OS technologies and logic
* Subsystems such as CICS, IMS, JES2, and DB2
* SAS Programming and report generation
* Knowledge of Workload Management (WLM) on z/OS
* Monitoring performance of z/OS systems and tasks using tools such as RMF and Mainview
* Produce reports using desktop solutions such as Excel.
* Understanding of mainframe hardware and components
* Database processing for IMS and DB2

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $102,340.00 - $120,400.00 - $132,440.00
