Information Services is the central IT department supporting all divisions of the Metropolitan Council. Our 140 team members provide technology, practices and innovative solutions that enable the core services of the Council.

The Endpoint Management Architect, which will be filled as a Systems Engineer 3,is a senior level position responsible for all aspects of enterprise network systems including planning, testing, implementation, and support. The position will work as part of a team, designing, building, integrating, and supporting systems that meet the METC technology needs. This position will solve problems at a high level and use their extensive knowledge to help set the future direction of the network systems at the Metropolitan Council.
Note: This position is based at our Robert Street office in St. Paul and requires travel to various Council work sites in the Twin Cities metro area. Some Council work sites are not accessible by public transportation, so driving a Council vehicle may be necessary. Candidates must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $46.01 - 55.29 Hourly / $95,701 - 115,003.20 Annually
Full Salary Range: $40.56 - $61.20 Hourly / $84,365 - $127,296 Annually

- Administer multiple hardware and software functions that include design, configuration, installation, monitoring, tuning, systems configuration, and release planning and change management.
- Responsible for leading problem identification, resolution, proactive problem management, and root cause analysis of system failures
- Coordinate appropriate service outage and recovery communications through the IS Service Desk.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED ANDnine (9) years ofexperience in the design, installation, operation, and troubleshooting of wired and wireless network equipment and related infrastructure.
Note: Highest completed degree in the following majors: computer technology, computer science, or a related field will count towards the minimum nine (9) years of required work experience.
- Associates degree counts as two years of experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher counts as four years of experience
What additional skills and experience would be helpful in this job (desired qualifications):
- Architecting experience that includes creating diagrams, using the cloud, patching and securing, etc.
- Experience using Intune.
- Experience using Mobile Device Management (MDM).
- Experience leading IT staff.
- Experience using SCCM/Config Management.
- Experience using ITSM tools.
- Experience using troubleshooting Endpoint hardware.
- Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification.
- Knowledge of overall information security best practices.
- Skilled in collaboration, facilitation, and mentoring skills.
- Skilled in problem solving skills across multiple domains and servers or network platforms.
- Ability to provide great quality customer service.

What your work environment would be:
You would perform your work in a standard office setting. Work may require travel between primary worksite and various locations on short notice to resolve computer system problems.
