The Sr Stu Prog Specialist for Graduate Programs will provide administrative support for Graduate Programs in the Gallogly College of Engineering. This position will be responsible for supporting and assisting with graduate recruitment, retention, and graduation for two schools in the college: the School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering and the School of Sustainable Chemical, Biological and Materials Engineering.Job Duties:
    Assist potential, prospective, and current graduate students through support activities for recruitment, visitation, orientation, advising, enrollment, scholarship/awards, education, mentorship, retention, degree completion, and employment. Coordinate academic affairs of graduate AME and SCBME students including collecting and maintaining data/records and preparing reports, monitoring progress, and addressing issues that arise.Address faculty needs as they relate to graduate curriculum, policies, and student progress.Assist with assessment activities related to grad program outcomes. Serve as the staff liaison to the Graduate College as it pertains to student affairs and graduate student college policies and procedures.Work collaboratively as part of a team to accomplish department goals.Other duties as assigned.

Job Location

Required Education: High School diploma or GED.

    12 months of office; clerical experience.

Skills: 

    Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication Excellent organizational skillsAble to build rapport quickly with director, staff, faculty, and studentsExceptional attention to detail Excellent computer literacy skills including experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)Fundamental mathematical skills and knowledgeDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a teamInitiative and ability to start and complete projects with minimum direction Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to prioritize and adapt in a dynamic environmentMust be able to supervise multiple student employees and to communicate directions and expectations effectively.General office skills such as multi-line phone, copying, filing, and mail.

Advertised Physical Requirements:

    Ability to engage in repetitive motion and communicate effectively.   Standard office environment.

Departmental Preferences:

    Knowledge of graduate advising, graduate assistant duties, and student success factors.
