Description
The Chief of Workforce Development will develop and implement early childhood and out of school time training and Workforce Development programs for The Community Group (TCG), and position TCG as a leader in early childhood and out-of-school Workforce Development. The Chief of Workforce Development will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will directly manage the Director of Training and the Workforce Program Manager. This position is full-time, and exempt.

The Community Group (TCG) is a private, nonprofit organization creating opportunities through education since 1970. TCG manages a range of programs, including a network of early childhood and out-of-school time programs, a network of charter and district public schools, consulting and training programs, and a child care resource and referral program, Child Care Circuit.
Compensation:
The salary range for the Chief of Workforce Development role is $90,000 to $115,000 a year.
Duties:
  • Mentor and collaborate with managers and staff. Ensure Workforce Development related programs operate safely, efficiently, and effectively. Create a culture of learning, accountability, collaboration, and growth within training programs;
  • Maintain strong community involvement and collaboration with local and statewide funders and partners;
  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with higher education partners
  • Serve as a center of innovation in the area of Workforce Development, professional development, and training for early childhood and out of school (OST) time educators.
  • Disseminate early childhood and (OST) best practices locally and statewide;
  • Maintain TCG status as an approved Early Education & care (EEC) training vendor;
  • Oversee TCG'S contract with EEC as a Professional Development Center;
  • Oversee and maintain TCG's apprenticeship programs;
  • Sustain and grow TCG's apprenticeship program, mentor/mentee program and other Workforce Development efforts to bring new individuals into the early childhood and OST field;
  • Assists TCG's overall efforts to contribute to the public dialogue and advocacy in support of quality early childhood education;
  • Foster an environment of inclusiveness, belonging, and support for employees. Communicate and implement the diversity, belonging, inclusion and equity vision and goals of the organization; and
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of Early Education and Care is required, including at least 5 years leadership experience;
  • Experience working in early education and care programs licensed by the Department of Early Education & Care, and a strong familiarity with the state regulations for these programs.
  • Strong management and supervisory skills;
  • Demonstrated leadership in strategizing and implementing long range planning;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong information technology skills and demonstrated ability to use technology and related software.
  • Completed CORI, SORI and fingerprint scan in accordance with regulations set forth by the Department of Early Education and Care.
