Job Description
Bendco Houston Pipe Benders is seeking an ideal candidate for a Sr. Sales Estimator position. This person will be responsible for supporting our sales team & become a key contributor to our sales team's success! Providing outstanding customer service will also be required as a liaison between the sales team & our customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare responses to Request for Quotations (RFQ's)
- Multi-task between multiple customer inquiries & issues, while maintaining sharp attention to detail & accuracy
- Develop detail take offs, bill of materials, material and subcontracting quotes & itemize labor estimates
- Coordinate proposals from scope identification through final costing & submittal
- Maintain a list of clarifications, assumptions, and qualifications identified as risks and discrepancies are detected during development of proposals
- Ensure the most cost effective and innovative utilization of materials, fabrication, subcontractors, and equipment for each proposal
- Organize the take-off process to conform to the bid breakdown forms & submittals
- Ensure that estimates, take-offs, etc. are in conformance with established estimating standards and processes
- Prepare estimates for commercial proposals by working with operations, engineering, supply chain & fabrication groups
- Analyze scope documents, including specifications, drawings, bills of material, historical date, and calculate project costs using labor & material pricing schedules
- Prepare both conceptual & definitive total installed cost estimates
- Ability to recognize, formulate & recommend cost-reduction options

- Ability to forecast & track key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results & annual forecasts)
- Stong analytical thinker with a high level of problem-solving skills & attention to detail
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- 3+ yrs. of relevant experience
- Proficient in MS Word & Excel
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, & organizational skills
- Understanding of construction processes
- Comprehends relationships between work processes & the cost to our business
- Additional training and/or certification preferred

- Extended periods of time sitting at & viewing computer monitor
- Extended periods of time on the phone
- No travel required
- Previous experience in sales environment helpful
- Bi-lingual ability a definite plus!
