Position Overview:
We are currently looking for a full time Salesperson/Estimator for a performance to hire position in Dallas for a commercial Metal Fabrication/installation office. The Salesperson / Estimator role works on client construction projects providing cost and schedule estimates, as well as reporting change orders, and other analyses as required. All applicants MUST be able to read and comprehend drawings, specifications, contracts, and schedules, as well as, have an understanding of metal working and fabrication techniques. They must be fully capable of presenting to management teams and be able to deal with multiple tasks and people including clients, subcontractors, architects, and owners' representatives.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Estimating all materials, shop and field labor, shop buyouts, and erection buyouts
- Assist in the troubleshooting of problems in the shop and field
- Provide schedule of values workups, and maintain bidding and sales records
- Review contracts and/or work orders for final review and signature to owner
- Attend pre-bid meetings and/or pre-construction meetings
- Follow up on projects after completion
- Develop trust and sound working relationships with clients and vendors as well as internal stakeholders
- Initiate continuing education and cross-training opportunities for personal growth
- A strong leadership presence with sales and the ability to engage and hold client interest.
- A self-starter who is able to work well independently. Possesses a high level of self- confidence, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a superb work ethic
- An outgoing individual who has excellent interpersonal skills and good presentation skills.

Job Requirements:
- Dependable team member willing to go the extra mile to get the job done right and meet client expectations
- Familiarity with all trades within the metal working industry
- Demonstrated ability to interact as a partner within the office and field team, as well as with clients
- The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple and simultaneous projects in a changing environment
·A strong understanding of construction management and practical field construction methods.
- Solid technical and analytical computer skills, including excellent Bluebeam and/or Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, and Excel software skills, as well as, scheduling programs and MIS software
- The ability to identify and analyze construction schedule impacts as well as understand and communicate the solutions to mitigate delays.Especially regarding schedule acceleration or delays and the financial effects of both.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to develop correspondence and written reports, i.e. proposal letters
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
·Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
·Potential for travel is approximately 10%
·The person in this position needs to move about inside the office and job site for up to 80% of the time.
·The person in this position frequently communicates with internal and external clients who have inquiries about their projects. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
·The person will be reading and comprehending complex documents, emails and contract material.
·Required to lift up to 50 pounds.
·Constantly works in either indoor office or outdoor field conditions.
·Must be able to work extended schedule required by job demands.
