The Quality Engineer ( IATF Compliance Leader) ensure quality organization works in a safe and ethical way - advancing Axalta core values.
The position of Quality Engineer ( IATF Compliance Leader) receives functional guidance from the Global/Regional/Local Quality Manager and is responsible for compliance activities in support of the Quality Management System.
A critical responsibility of the Quality Engineer ( IATF Compliance Leader) is to ensure that the Customer Specific Requirements are designed into the IATF Certified Quality Management System.
This position requires the Quality Engineer ( IATF Compliance Leader) to consult leadership and site teams on quality system compliance related issues and changes. The position communicates and networks cross functionally to communicate gaps that may require additional resources and highlight achievements in key QMS milestones.
The job requires The Quality Engineer ( IATF Compliance Leader ) to act as a key interface within in the IATF defined Quality Management System process landscape and takes responsibility in support of Quality related issues.
Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Management System
  • Guide the Organization to follow the Quality Policy and help establish a quality culture
  • Represent local site quality organization during 2nd and 3rd party audits.
  • Own and maintain the site Quality Manual and coordinate all IATF 16949 Certification activities
  • Prepare and present periodic QMS Management Reviews
  • Develop schedule and execute IATF Internal Quality Audit activities
  • Leverage global best practices and procedures into local QMS system.
  • Identify changes that potentially impact Quality Management System performance (MOC process)
  • Attend MOC, IBM and other key cross functional meetings

• Customer Satisfaction:
  • Assure "Customer Specific Requirements" are integrated into the sites QMS
  • Monitor customer scorecards/portals and facilitate any required actions
  • Act as site customer coordinator for assessments, audits, and visits.
  • Support cross functional teams to solve customer complaints with sustained solutions.
  • Act as Site QMS liaison to account teams in response to customer related quality issues
  • Foster / train organization to better understand customer requirements

• Certification:
  • Act as the Management representative and ensure that the required IATF 16949 requirements are attained and maintained.
  • Interface with external third-party certification organizations
  • Serve and act as facility coordinator for 2nd party quality certifications

• Suppliers:
  • Ensure sub tier supplier quality processes are defined and followed in support of Quality Management System and Customer Specific Requirements
  • Support the Sourcing Organization in driving contractor / supplier quality system development and improvement through conducting audits and participating in supplier evaluation review

• Continuous Improvement (Audits, Corrective and Preventive Actions):
  • Utilize Plan, Do Check and Act process to help drive continuous improvement of areas key quality performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Analyze performance to Identify Improvement Opportunities
  • Communicate regularly with management concerning trends and progress in QMS performance.
  • Monitor and drive improvement actions identified in first party Internal Quality Audits
  • Ensure timely sustainable corrective actions for internal or external audit findings
  • Support Site, Regional and Global Quality Improvement Process's.
  • Assure Key Learnings are updated within FMEAs, control plans, work instructions.

• Training:
  • Communicate training opportunities in support of IATF-16949 and Customer Specific Requirements

and assure training is communicated and scheduled in a timely manner close gaps in all required QMS competencies such as Core Tools, Root Cause Failure Analysis and IATF Auditing.
Requirements:

• Good communication skills: both speaking and writing
• Certification as Six Sigma Green / Black Belt desired
• Experience/knowledge of key functions: operations, marketing and sales, technology
• Knowledgeable in ISO9001, IATF 16949 quality standards and requirements
• Able to effectively use Microsoft office products
• Direct customer facing job experience is an advantage.
• Min. X years' experience in a quality management role, automotive background is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of quality core tools such as FMEA, MSA, SPC, APQP, PPAP and RCFA
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Good Analytical Skills
• Team player and Network with other quality professionals
• Qualified Internal QIATF-16949 Quality System Auditor
• Initiative, ability to work without close supervision
• Position will require direct customer interaction.
