The Print Quality Engineer will perform technical activities leading to new or improved products or processes that have significant impact on the company. This role will take the lead on initiatives related to Print Quality evaluation and enhancement for large projects. This role proactively and independently creates part quality approach, optimizes control parameters, trouble shoot printing issues for machine and material integration to assure the quality of our products
What you will be doing:
Tunes and optimizes printing parameters, integrates machine and material to meet part quality specifications and PRDs.
- Evaluate and quantify part quality risks during early product development and provide inputs for risk reduction and performance improvement.
- Tune and optimize control parameters for medium and complex projects (new material & machine)
- Be able to operate test rigs for initial tuning and printing when needed.
- Organize and conduct part quality reviews according to required procedure.
- Develop deep understanding about FDM 3D printing technology and processes.
- Work to improve machine and materials integration for consistent printing performance.
- Drive for process control techniques to improve printing consistency for high end customers.
Problem solving andprocess development.
- Perform trouble shooting and root cause analysis to identify and track printing issues during material and system integration. Work with design, testing, material, reliability and system engineers to address these issues when needed.
- Develop new techniques to evaluate and significantly improve part quality performance such as test rig, new algorithms, new process steps, artificial intelligence etc.
Provides high quality documentation and supports compliance and certification.
- Document part quality review results according to ISO procedure.
- Writes clear, concise technical reports / memos when required for technical approaches and lessons learned.
- Lead the required work for compliance and the application of product certifications.
Collaboration work with cross-functional team members.
- Be able to clearly present work results with other engineering functions, application engineers and customer service group etc.
- Lead the sustaining engineering and field issue resolutions when required.
- Lead the required work for ISO compliance and the application of product certifications.
- Support or lead the work for compliance with 3D printing standards.
Must have for this role:
- 5+ years engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience for 3D printing or electro-mechanical system integration
Nice to have:
- Previous experience using 3D printers or machinery equipment.
- Experience in Pro/E and Solidworks or other CAD solid modeling software programs.
- Design for six sigma and process control experience.
- Data analytics or statistics analysis experience in manufacturing industry.

Education: Bachelors in Engineering or related discipline with a minimum 5+ or related experience; or 3+ years of experience with an advance degree or PhD without experience or equivalent work experience
