Job Description:
As a Quality Engineer you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all aspects of the construction process meet the highest quality standards. Volumetric modular construction involves the prefabrication of building components off-site, which are then transported and assembled on-site. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality control procedures, conducting inspections, and collaborating with various teams to guarantee the delivery of modular structures that meet or exceed client expectations and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Quality Control Procedures:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control procedures for the entire modular build process
Collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams to integrate quality measures into every stage of the process
Inspections and Testing:
Lead the Inspection department which is responsible for regular inspections of modular components during and after production to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards
Coordinate and perform testing procedures on materials and finished modules, identifying and resolving any deviations from quality standards
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of quality control activities, including inspection reports, test results, and non-conformance issues
Prepare regular reports summarizing quality metrics and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders
Collaboration:
Work closely with design engineers, production teams, and project managers to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions
Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the quality of raw materials and components used in the modular construction process
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in the quality control system
Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address recurring quality issues
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay abreast of industry standards, building codes, and regulations relevant to volumetric modular construction
Ensure that all modular structures comply with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations
Training and Development:
Provide training to production and inspection teams on quality control procedures and best practices
Foster a culture of quality awareness and accountability within the organization
