The Sr. Payroll Specialist is responsible for all aspects of supporting and assisting operations in obtaining information for payroll processing/production, verifying totals, and responding to and resolving questions and problems members of the operation may have.
Essential Functions:
- Compile and input payroll data for headquarters exempt and non-exempt employees.
- Analyze, prepare, and input, audit payroll data for all hourly personnel.
- Use an automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll.
- Facilitate management and employee understanding of payroll procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal wage and hour laws.
- Solve problems concerning payroll, answer inquiries, and enforce payroll policies.
- Respond to wage garnishment information requests.
- Assist with compiling and preparing payroll tax reports, unemployment tax reports and, various other payroll-related reports.
- File and prepare personnel records for storage annually and assist with processing and dispersing W-2 forms annually.
- Assist in administering social security and employment eligibility verification for all employees.
- Compile wage increase and child labor reports each pay period.
- Responsible for processing all company-wide FMLA requests.
- Responsible for processing all tuition reimbursement applications.
- Responsible for submitting proper documentation for unemployment claims.
- Back-up to benefits department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Degree; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' payroll experience.
- Strong communication, analytical abilities, organization skills, meet deadlines and general knowledge of AS400, Adobe applications, Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes.
- Multi-location/multi-state experience
- Manufacturing experience a plus
