Role Description
We currently seek an experienced paralegal who shares our passion for advocating for immigrant rights. The ideal candidate will embody the three essential qualities we pride ourselves on: Strong work ethic, initiative, and attention to detail. The Sr. Paralegal provides comprehensive support for the attorneys throughout the lifecycle of the legal case. This position requires leadership, cross-functional teamwork, and exemplary dedication toward the Vergara Miller Law Firm’s mission of “changing people’s lives''.
Qualifications
- + 2 yr. exp. in Family Based Immigration Law
- Bilingual English / Spanish Required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Dropbox, MyCase, and other software.
Responsibilities
- Prepare forms, draft cover letters, and assemble complete draft packets.
- Complete and sign a general review checklist of each packet for attorney review.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date case notes on MyCase and Airtable.
- Maintain a high level of communication with the legal team to address legal matters.
- Collaborate with management to ensure continuous improvement.
