Paralegal/Legal Assistant

MacArthur, Heder & Metler is looking for a Paralegal/Legal Assistant to work in our Family Law Department. Candidate must be a self-starter, strong work ethic, organized, positive and has exceptional communication and leadership skills.

Summary/Objective

As a Paralegal/Legal Assistant in the Family Law Department, your primary objective is to help drive the attorney’s practice. You will provide support to our attorneys and associates, manage client files, and prepare and e-file legal documents. High communication skills and attention to detail are a must. We are looking for an individual who is empathetic and can easily interact with a wide range of personalities, is a great listener and is dependable.

Essential Functions

• Prepare legal documents.
• E-file legal documents.
• Legal fact and basic legal research.
• Keep and monitor client files and maintain a task list of current matters and projects.
• Works in tandem with administrative team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required education and experience

• High School Diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
• Two years minimum as a paralegal or similar experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Proficient in Adobe Acrobat
