Sr Network Engineer/ Architect

As a Network Architect at Mativ, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex network solutions that meet the needs of our users. You will work closely with stakeholders to assess their requirements, plan network architecture, and provide expert guidance to ensure optimal network performance, security, and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Network Design: Create comprehensive network architecture designs (IT and OT) and solutions tailored to Mativ’s specific needs, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Network Optimization: Assess existing network infrastructure and identify areas for improvement, recommending and implementing optimizations.
• Security: Integrate robust security measures into network designs, staying current with industry best practices and threat landscapes.
• Technology Strategy: Stay up-to-date with emerging network technologies and evaluate their applicability for clients, making recommendations for adoption.
• Vendor Selection: Choose and work with network hardware and software vendors to source the most suitable components for network solutions.
• Telecommunications: Guide the team voice and call center support, implementation, and product selection.
• Project Management: Lead and manage network projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, security experts, and developers, to implement network solutions.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed network architecture documentation, including diagrams, technology strategic roadmaps, best practices, and technical specifications.
• Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level support for complex network issues and incidents, including root cause analysis and resolution.
• Mentoring: Mentor and train junior network engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience.

Education/Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or demonstrated experience
• 7-10 years of hands-on experience in network architecture and design across IT/OT, cloud, and Saas solutions.
• Expertise in network protocols, technologies, and hardware, including routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
• Experience with network virtualization and software-defined networking (SDN).
• Relevant certifications, such as CCIE, CCNP, or equivalent.
• Project leadership experience, including managing network projects from conception to completion.
