SUMMARY

 

The Senior Manager of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) is responsible for coordination all aspects of the sales and Operations Planning within Power Generation Services (PGS) ensuring that demand, supply and inventory are aligned with the MHPSA business plan and customer expectations. The S&OP processes are critical to the service business by ensuring Turbine capital parts  an hardware are available to support planned parts rotations well as unplanned emergent needs and to cover fallout during planned repairs. The scope of Parts includes Hot Gas Path Parts (HGPP), Compressor blades and diaphragm, rotors and CRI components, GT outage hardware and capital spare parts for roll out/roll in programs. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead cross functional team from LTSA, Field Service, Parts, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing & Repair operations and Marketing and Sales to ensure that an integrated demand and supply plan consistent with business and management requirements is developed and implemented;
  • Ensure that service level planning and inventory targets support corporate objectives for sales, inventory turnover ratios, cash flow and fulfillment of customer requirements;
  • Assist the development and maintenance of the SOP process within SAP;
  • Provide accurate multi-year forecasts for parts demand as required by the business plan;
  • Develop and implement metrics to measure demand accuracy and supply lead times and on time delivery, to support the SOP process.  Implement changes to improve performance as required;
  • Develop and maintain methods to identify unplanned parts demand including recommendations for safety stock levels to support unplanned demand consistent with business plan and other contractual requirements;
  • Develop a method to capture, track, and progress actions and decisions related to fleet configuration and migration towards upgrades.
  • Lead efforts to collaborate with sales and LTSA to forecast demand of brown-refurbished hot gas path parts.  Manage inventory and release to repair to ensure available stock of correct configuration refurbished parts to support the market demand.  Lead cost analysis efforts to establish acceptable inventory purchase values for market or post-upgrade available brown and refurbished hot parts.
  • Proactively coordinate with North America Manufacturing (NAM) and TGO on hot part and capital part cost targets to ensure future margin enhancement and productivity.
  • Maintain market competitive knowledge to provide recommended list and market pricing for non LTSA customer segment.
  • Coordinate forecasts with LTSA and transactional sales leaders to identify commonality of stock needs to support outage consumables, CRI components, rotor exchanges, blade ring and ISSH replacement parts.  Ensure demand release in advance to enable volume purchasing and meet factory and vendor lead times.
  • Coordinate with LTSA and sales leadership to support advance release of upgrade and sales forecasted hot gas path parts.
  • Forecast, monitor, manage PGS inventory values to support business financial planning processes.  Establish a monthly reporting rhythm to identify variances to forecast and provide feedback to other departments to improve the inventory management process.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, mathematics, or other quantitative discipline. A minimum of 8 years of experience with gas and steam turbine parts types, applications, repair and manufacture. Knowledge of the purpose and limitations of parts within gas and steam turbines. Knowledge of general accounting principles. Experience with statistical analysis software such as Minitab or SAS.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial statements, technical procedures.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures such as mean, standard deviation, proportions, percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics.
  • Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: medium to advanced personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, data manipulation, analysis software. Microsoft Excel; Minitab or other statistical analysis software such as SAS; SAP Navigation.

The employee's working environment maybe loud.  The employee may be required to adhere to MPW-A and customer safety procedures including but not limited to, the use of personal protection equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, goggles, hearing and fall protection).
