Role Purpose Statement
The job incumbent ensures control, maintenance and continuous improvement of operational standards within Assembly & Equipment and Sanitation (ES&A), according to Corporate policies and customer requirements, within the North America Region and in accordance with the regional/corporate team. Responsible for supporting the achievement of the Customer Service Center (CSC) budgets as agreed by the GM of the CSC and ensure control, maintenance and continuous improvement of Lean practices, methods and tools according to the LSG Sky Chefs Production System.
Main Accountabilities
Business Strategy, Policies and Tools
- Ensure control, maintenance and continuous improvement of operational and lean production standards, according to Corporate policies and customer requirements and in accordance with the corporate team
- Develop and foster Standard operation procedures and principles related to the main responsibilities of the Assembly & Equipment and Sanitation (ES&A) Department:
- Supervision and Team Leadership

- Maintain an ongoing, positive and pro-active relationship with all internal and external customers
- Ensure on-time and accurate production in the preparation of food/Equipment and catering of flights
- Investigate customer quality issues, develop and implement corrective actions
Lean Production
- Strategize, implement and drive continuous improvement in Assembly & Equipment and Sanitation (ES&A) across CSCs and in close coordination with management staff
- Increase know how and skills on lean production and continuous improvement by developing and facilitating lean and other process improvement related workshops and provide training as required (for example, Kaizen events)
- Support the implementation of Regional Operational Excellence Strategy, guidelines, and policies
- Define continuous improvement targets together with the management staff and report performance against objectives
- Analyze cost reduction potential; Accountable for delivering results related to productivity/process improvements
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of Assembly & Equipment and Sanitation operations, making data-driven improvements as needed
- Ensure communication and know-how sharing processes between CSCs in the region
- Ensure that all Assembly & Equipment and Sanitation operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards, licensing, and environmental requirements.
Leadership
- Identify and train departmental management and core employees on Assembly & Equipment and Sanitation production system methodology and lean principles across NAM region
- Coach CSC LPS Leaders and Managers to understand and apply LPS principles and methods to achieve business targets (KPI's)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in Production and Sanitation management
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Industrial/Process Engineering or equivalent experience
- Five to Seven years of experience in developing and implementing production/process methods and/or seven to ten years of experience in managing airline catering processes
- Knowledge of Assembly & Equipment and Sanitation regulations, safety protocols, and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Production and Sanitation management software and MS Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team to achieve operational excellence
- Effective workshop facilitator skills with experience in leading teams, driving change and delivering results
- Understanding of lean concepts and LSG Sky Chefs Production System (LPS)
- Prior experience with application of lean and participation in process improvement workshops
- Understanding of Total Quality Management and Change Management experience is desired
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to effectively interact and coach with all levels of the organization
- Sound delegation skills accompanied with effective ability for follow-up
- Demonstrable record of understanding and meeting customer expectations
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer application
- May require up to 75% travel
