This Corporate Counsel position, a US-based member of the Global Legal Services team, is responsible for commercial Real Estate, construction, and related commercial agreements, gas and energy purchase agreements; drafting and negotiation; ensuring compliance with laws and Lam's corporate polices. Responsibilities for the position we are seeking to fill include:
- Negotiate, prepare, and draft complex commercial leases (office and light industrial manufacturing), construction agreements, gas and energy, warehousing, logistics agreements
- Partner with Real Estate, facilities, supply chain and other administrative business units to achieve business objectives
- Provide strategic advice and transaction support, including advising on procurement strategies and process improvements, in support of business objectives
- Contribute to and assist in developing and delivering internal training, communications, playbooks, contract templates, processes and procedures for providing effective and efficient legal support
- Provide timely and effective legal advice on a wide variety of corporate and commercial legal issues, including but not limited to commercial Real Estate law; construction law; land use/permitting; and risk management
- Participate in cross functional teams (e.g., environmental health & safety, compliance, Risk, Finance, etc.)
- Provide timely general legal support as assigned
- Monitor and communicate legal & regulatory developments, follow up or escalate as applicable to ensure business has process to comply; monitor, communicate, and follow up on such developments
- Interpret and communicate requirements of company policies to business units
- Domestic and international travel may be required

Minimum Qualifications

- J.D. or equivalent from a top law school
- Bar membership; Oregon or California bar membership preferred
- 6+ years of experience, including significant experience providing legal support for a multinational company
- Strong contracts, process experience
- Background or experience in the semiconductor equipment and/or semiconductor industry is a plus
- Ability to work in a digitized environment (such as contract authoring tools etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrated expert knowledge and command of commercial Real Estate leasing and construction law, with a minimum of five years practice in a US state preferably in either a law firm or in a responsible in-house position
- Demonstrated experience and strength with contract drafting and negotiation, in particular in commercial leasing, construction, and gas/energy purchases
- Highly effective team player who can implement a shared vision, energize others, challenge the status quo and drive change within the organizations
- Experience with using a CLM to manage contracting process
- Strong process experience & orientation, organized and results-oriented
- Have excellent English oral and written communication skills, and the ability to discuss and explain complex technical and legal matters with legal and non-legal business partners/stakeholders
- Create high quality documents--similar skills in Chinese, German, Korean or Japanese language would be a plus
- Be able to work successfully across time zones and cultures to support significant international operations and coordinate with remote resources
- Partner successfully with other business groups to achieve corporate objectives
- Successfully work and manage in a highly matrixed environment
- Be adept at balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Work independently with limited supervision
- Be responsive, creative, innovative, concise, accessible and approachable

Position will be expected to go to the office 1-2 days a week.
