General Summary
Under the supervision of the Sr. Manager of Analytics, the Senior Systems Analyst, Data Management works with data architects, engineers, analysts, and business partners to implement programs, solutions and initiatives for enterprise Data Governance, quality, and protection activities. The Senior Systems Analyst, Data Management will help define the indicators of the quality and performance and ensure compliance with data-related standards and policies.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Engage with key business stakeholders to establish fundamental Data Governance processes and procedures both at project onset and on an ongoing basis
- Own development and management of data catalogs and data owner matrices to establish enterprise standards pertaining to the use of critical data
- Define key data quality metrics and indicators and facilitate the development and implementation of supporting standards
- Ensure compliance with legal and information security standards
- Leverage domain expertise and data, business, or process analysis to inform and support solution design
- Consult with clients to assess the current state of data and metadata quality within area of assigned responsibility
- Participate in cross-functional groups to develop companywide Data Governance strategies
- Provide input into communication routines with stakeholders, business partners, and experienced leaders
- Agile ceremonies: Code reviews, Sprint Reviews/Commitments, Sprint planning
Experience
- Bachelors’ degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, Project Management experience
- Knowledge and understanding of analytical methods used to: measure and communicate key performance metrics (KPIs)
- Ability to effectively assess stakeholder, partner, or client needs while consulting, building solutions, and developing processes
- Ability to research, analyze, document, and present organizational metrics that drive business decisions
- Knowledge and understanding of complex regulatory/compliance issues and potential solutions
- Ability to analyze complex applications and systems with minimal supervision, strong problem solving skills
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to effectively communicate with business users to understand business processes
- Highly proficient in analyzing business objectives and requirements
- Understanding of relational database, analytics and OLAP concepts
- Proficient in SQL
- Understanding and ability to manage through an enterprise wide project/solution impacts, issues, and risks
- Ability to manage across company teams to ensure collaboration in support of high quality solutions
- Accurately prepares written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective, professional and engaging
- Competent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Advanced experience with Visio and related design/flow tools. Fluent with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Medium skill level with MS Project.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced and cutting edge development environment.
